How many Land Rovers have you owned, including this one?
This is number 5 if I may include the Discovery 2 parts truck.
When did you purchase or acquire this Land Rover?
A friend of mine was selling it because it needed some work and she wanted to get something newer. I bought this past summer.
What was the condition when you bought it?
Good condition. It needed a front hub and a couple of other little things.
Do you still have it?
What made you choose this particular Land Rover?
I have been looking to get an LR3 and I couldn’t pass up the deal.
What is your favorite thing about your Land Rover?
The suspension and ride.
How do you use it?
It is my daily driver, trail rig, family hauler, and adventure vehicle.
Describe a perfect day with your Land Rover.
Trail riding with the family on a rainy day. Or traveling cross country for a Land Rover gathering.
Where is the most exotic place you have taken your Land Rover?
Nothing really exotic with this one but some great trails at the Little River Canyon Back Country area near Fort Payne Alabama.
What was your most embarrassing experience in your Land Rover?
None with this one yet, but a couple with some of my earlier ones.
Does your Land Rover have a name?
What do friends and family say about your Land Rover?
There is a little jealousy there.
Who else gets to drive it?
My wife, Natalie…although she prefers to drive her 2003 Discovery HSE7.
What was your favorite experience so far with your Land Rover?
So far, Boggs and Boulders off road park with the Gulf Coast Land Rover Club.
What was the worst breakdown or failure you ever experienced with it?
Nothing yet. I try to be prepared and fix things early.
Do you love it or hate it? Both?
I love it. It has been great so far.
What would you have done differently with it if you could?
Bigger/more aggressive tires.
What future plans do you have for your Land Rover?
I need lights for the roof rack, hood blackout with a compass on it, rock sliders with tree guards, rear bumper with swing away tire carrier and winch bumper.
If money were no object, what you do with it?
I would travel the Trans America Trail.
What will be your next Land Rover?
Hopefully a new Defender when they come back to the states.
What is your dream Land Rover?
2012 Defender 110 Crewcab
Anything else you want us to know?
I have been working for Land Rover for about 15 years and have been an owner for about 12 years now. I am also a Land Rover Master Technician. I also started the Gulf Coast Land Rover Club in 2007. I don’t know if I would ever own anything else.
Is there anyone you would like to thank for helping you with it?
My wife, Natalie, for putting up with this obsession that I have. Also, Garrett Roberts for taking the pictures on this trip.
