Ahead of its Los Angeles Auto Show debut next month, the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible can be seen off-road testing on the iconic grounds of Eastnor Castle in a video that harkens back to Land Rover’s roots. The short film shows the open-top Evoque – oddly still wearing camouflage markings – crawling over hills and through rutted trails as historic footage of early Series vehicles make identical maneuvers plays in frame next to it.
A reminder that the earliest Land Rovers were open vehicles as well, the video will likely do little to sway hard-core enthusiasts that the Evoque is a serious off-roader. Nevertheless, it shows the newest little Rangie testing its mettle as all proper Rover vehicles must do.
The official unveiling of the production Evoque Convertible will take place at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 18, with select journalists and several hundred high-profile Angelinos getting an early preview the night before.
