Land Rover to Introduce ‘Velar’ Concept Ahead of Geneva Show
It’s a well-known insider fact that the original Range Rover prototypes wore badging that read ‘VELAR’ to disguise them as a Land Rover vehicle. Now, what once was a clever play on words to throw off prying eyes will apparently become an official model name, as an all-new Range Rover concept is set to debut wearing the throwback name.
The Velar Concept is said to fill the gap in the Range Rover family between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. Details will be released in full on March 1, but we can presume the Velar will be a more luxurious execution of the brand’s entry-level Discovery Sport.
The Velar Concept will be on the Land Rover display at the Geneva Motor Show starting the 7th of March.
